CHANGES
It's too difficult for me to write about this topic, the education in Chile has always been a controversial subject. When I was younger, I thought that the educational system was highly unequal, by this I mean that in Chile, education became a consumer product, when it was privatized, the difference between the public and privad education became significant. The people of Chile or "the public sector" have had to demand education as a right, this difference has led to increased precarity in the public sector. On one hand, the private sector receives an education of excellence, with the best infrastructure, the best teachers, the best condition, in short, with recourses. On the other hand, businessmen saw a good opportunity in the subsidization system. In this system, schools are privately owned but receive public funding or government subsidies to operate, but the "pig men", stolen this funding maintaining the schools in the precarity, I mean, without the basics condition like water, or heating, forget it the quality of the education in this schools. well, all of this caused on me sadness and rage, because the kids with recourses had a bright future ahead, while the poor children would only fill themselves with anger an sadness.
However I was a fortunate child, so i managed to get into the University of Chile, specifically in the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. It is an estate university and the best of Chile, it depends on the faculty of the university whether they had good conditions for studying or not. Then, I see how within the same university, different professional career are being undermined. You can't compare the Faculty of arts with the Faculty of engineering, for example.
Well, the changes I would make in my faculty would be to better allocate the funds. Currently, most of the money is earmarked for research, which is fine, but they should also allocate more fund to improve the educational system, provide better training in pedagogy for researches who teach us.
I'm sorry for being so extensive but I tell you, it's difficult for me this topic!
